Information on battery disposal
 
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are required to inform you of the following:
 
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
 
You can either return used batteries that we currently offer or have previously offered as new batteries to us at your own expense, or return them free of charge to our dispatch warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can hand the batteries in at local collection points.
 
As an end user, you are legally required to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
 
Used batteries may contain hazardous substances that can harm the environment or your health if stored or disposed of improperly. However, batteries also contain valuable raw materials, such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel, and can be recycled.
 
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
 
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
 
For batteries containing a certain amount of lead, cadmium or mercury, the following additions below the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicate the respective hazardous substances:
 
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% by mass of lead
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002% by mass of cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% by mass of mercury
